OUR TEACHERS Valley Preschool teachers are
highly educated, experienced and dedicated. In addition to holding bachelor
degrees, our teachers attend yearly continuing education workshops and
classes in preschool education.
Abbey Korba - Lead Teacher. Abbey
grew up in Stillwater. She attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in 2005 and completed
the Masters of Education Initial Licensure Program at the University of
Minnesota in 2007. She is licensed to teach elementary K-6 and math
5-8. Abbey lives in Stillwater with her husband Joey, two sons,
Connor and Braden, and daughter Bristol. Abbey enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
She also enjoys coaching the Stillwater girls track and field team in the
spring and helping with lumberjack sport camps and logrolling tournaments
throughout the year. She joined Valley Preschool's teaching staff in
2007.
Jamie Fischer - Teacher.
Jamie grew up in Stillwater and continues to live there with his wife
Jill, son Luke, and daughter Adeline. He has his bachelors degree from the University of
Minnesota in Elementary Education and has taken many classes towards his
masters in the same field. He coaches at many logrolling programs in the
area including the YMCA in Hudson, WI since 1996. He also enjoys coaching
track at Oakland Jr. High School. When not teaching, Jamie runs his lumberjack business and likes to travel around the United States. Jamie started at
Valley in 2008.
Jennifer Korba - Teacher. Jennifer
grew up in Lakeland, MN. She attended the College of St. Catherine and
graduated in 2006 with a bachelors degree in Theology. Jennifer is qualified
to teach infants, toddlers and preschool, and enjoys working with all the
different age groups. Jennifer lives in Maplewood with her husband Mike, and
has a daughter Julia (dec 2009). Jennifer enjoys traveling the world,
reading, dancing, going to movies and spending time with her family and
friends. She joined Valley Preschool’s teaching staff in 2009.
Amy Jarpe - Teacher.
Amy grew up in New Richmond, Wisconsin and Lake Elmo. She is a graduate of
Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a teacher in Minneapolis for ten
years before taking a leave to stay at home with her kids. Amy lives in
Stillwater with her husband, Matt, and three children: Jack (11), Joe (7),
and Gunnar (4). In her free time, Amy enjoys running, reading,
tennis, family and friends. Amy joined Valley's teaching staff in 2009.
Kelli Ekblad -
Teacher.
Kelli grew up in White Bear
Lake where she currently lives with her husband Jae. She attended Bethel
University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and
Preprimary Education in 2005. She is licensed to teach preschool and
elementary K-6. Before coming to Valley, Kelli taught third grade in the
Anoka Hennepin School District, and first grade and third grade in Maplewood,
MN. Kelli enjoys attending Minnesota sporting events with her husband. She
also enjoys reading, downhill skiing, and spending time with her family.
She joined Valley preschool's teaching staff in 2010.
Heather Bergman- Teacher.
Heather grew up in Menomonie, WI. She attended the University of
Wisconsin-Stout and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood. Prior
to coming to Valley, Heather taught 3rd grade on an army base in Germany
for two years and also taught preschool for one year. Heather lives in
Houlton, WI with her husband, Mark, and her two little boys, Maddox and
Mason. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, crafting, shopping,
traveling and spending time with friends and family. She joined Valley's
staff in 2010.
